Resthaven announces major renewal
After celebrating 50 years in Marion last year, not-for-profit aged care provider Resthaven will spruce up the Adelaide service and facilities.

South Australian aged care provider Resthaven has announced a major redevelopment of its aged care community in Marion, which sits in the southern and western suburbs of Adelaide.
This comes after the $37 million site redevelopment in Westbourne Park that commenced in 2023, and an organisation wide move to solar announced in June 2024.
The proposed development will incorporate a 150-place aged care home, community service offices and wellness and community respite services. It will also see all of Resthaven’s services on Township Road and Finniss Street brought together onto a single campus.

New buildings will be connected by a dedicated linkway, and include a central communal square and café, with associated services. Resthaven’s retirement living village on Township Road will remain unchanged.
Resthaven has also indicated it is aiming for high sustainability outcomes, including carbon neutrality and a high green star rating.
The redevelopment plan, which is waiting approval from the city of Marion, will be undertaken in three stages and will be completed over a four-year period.
“We are proud to be bringing all of our services at Marion together to offer a better experience for our residents and clients,” said Resthaven chief executive officer Darren Birbeck.
“We are investing in our sites and looking towards the future with confidence.”
Resthaven will also be celebrating its 90th anniversary later this year.
