CHSP grants available to plug service gaps
There is $110 million in growth funding available to meet demonstrated needs in priority areas.
Home care providers are invited to apply for a government growth funding grant to expand entry-level aged care services in Australia.
The federal government uses growth funding to respond to the evolving needs of older Australians by providing more funding and services into the Commonwealth Home Support Program.
Allocated through the Department of Health and Aged Care and based on priority geographical areas and service types, growth funding helps providers expand entry-level aged care services for older people while meeting demonstrated needs and identified gaps in service delivery.
The CHSP Growth Funding 2024-25 Grant Opportunity seeks to invest $100 million to increase the availability of domestic assistance services, allied health and therapy services, transport services and home maintenance services across a range of Aged Care Planning Regions.
The grant opportunity seeks to attract new providers currently delivering other similar services that are focused on supporting the care economy, including those for aged care, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the National Disability Support Scheme.
Additionally, the CHSP First Nations Growth Funding 2024–25 grant opportunity is seeking to inject $10 million to expand the delivery of culturally safe CHSP services for First Nations older people. Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations with experience across aged care, disability and primary health are encouraged to apply. This particular grant is not open to current CHSP providers.
Successful providers will receive a grant agreement for 1 October 2024 to 30 June 2025 and be included in the 2025–27 CHSP funding extension process.
