Clipsal’s grand plans

Clipsal Australia has announced plans for a $50 million slice of the country’s seniors’ technology market after buying Vieo Systems.

Clipsal Australia has announced the acquisition of aged care technology provider, Vieo Systems, in a bid to bolster its position in the aged care market.

In the past four years, Clipsal and Vieo have worked together on a number of aged care projects, combining Vieo’s smart home monitoring system with Clipsal’s C-Bus lighting control and automation technology.

Clipsal will maintain Vieo’s business relationships with IT service provider Empired Limited and Cisco Systems.

The expanded entity is targeting a $50 million slice of the over-65s market this year.

“There are massive opportunities in this market, “said Erik Scholz, Executive General Manager of Clipsal Australia.

“The next generation of aged care customers are already accustomed to having technology in their lives.

Vieo’s Technical Director, Mark Lapins said his company’s collaboration with Clipsal had taken the C-Bus technology to a new level for the health and aged care industries.

“Architects and specifiers have embraced the intelligent building platform and convergence of technologies that we offer,” he said.

“Now with the full backing of Clipsal, Vieo has the resources to take on a greater number of projects on both a national and global scale.”
