Community care workshops coming up
There is still time to register for the optional seminars on dementia and chronic disease management before this year’s 2nd National ACSA Community Care Conference.
With its 2nd National Community Care Conference just over three weeks away, ACSA says there is still time to register for its two pre-conference workshops.
Held on Tuesday, 13 May, the workshops will take a closer look at the key issues of dementia and chronic disease.
The first workshop is entitled ‘The Challenges and Rewards of Dementia Care’ and it will be held at the Wesley Conference Centre, 220 Pitt St, Sydney, from 9am to 5pm.
“This workshop encourages participants to explore ways of applying the theory of Person Centred Care to the practical issues encountered by community staff in everyday dementia care,” said ACSA’s National Policy Manager, Pat Sparrow.
The second workshop is entitled ‘Chronic Condition Self Management Support’ and it will be held at the ACS offices, Level 3, 9 Blaxland Rd, Rhodes from 9am to 5pm.
“With the prevalence of chronic conditions on the rise, this workshop will skill community care workers to more effectively support people with chronic conditions by helping them to remain at home successfully,” said Ms Sparrow.
The full-day seminars cost $185 and $175 respectively.
