Eldercare acquires new home

South Australian aged care provider Eldercare is the new owner of independent facility Ananda Hope Valley.

South Australian aged care provider Eldercare has become the new owner of Adelaide-based independent aged care home Ananda Hope Valley.

Eldercare chief executive Jane Pickering said the acquisition was an “exciting opportunity” for the organisation to have a presence in the northeast of the city and to offer its established brand and best practice model of care to the local community.

Renamed Eldercare Hope Valley, the 19-year-old facility will undergo a significant refurbishment over the next 12 months which will see the 137-bed home redecorated and amenities added.

“A gym will be built for resident use, and a more spacious and fit-for-purpose hairdressing salon and resident lounge and dining areas will be created,” said Ms Pickering.

As well, the site’s large memory support unit will be reconfigured into two smaller units to enable staff to provide more person-centred care.

“Eldercare’s high standards of care and service provision will be applied to the home,” said Ms Pickering in a statement. “And, as a part of this, there will be some system and facility improvements that will benefit residents and their families.”

Eldercare’s latest acquisition boosts its residential aged care portfolio to 13 homes.
