Mercy Health is expanding its organisational footprint to include Western Australia, with the provider taking on six facilities in and around Perth.
Mercy Health is expanding its organisational footprint to include Western Australia, with the provider taking on six facilities in and around Perth.
The aged care provider currently operates in Victoria, southern NSW and the Australian Capital Territory. It provides palliative care, home and community care, acute and subacute hospital services, early parenting services, mental health programs and health worker training and development.
On Monday the provider acquired Mercy Place Mont Clare (Claremont), Mercy Place Lathlain and Mercy Place Mandurah. In July, it became manager of Edgewater Mercy Aged Care, Villa Maria Aged Care in Lesmurdie and Mercyville Aged Care in Craigie.
Mercy Health CEO Adjunct Professor Stephen Cornelissen said it was an honour for the health and aged care provider to have a place in Western Australia, and the facilities would be overseen by Mercy Health’s Western Australian state manager Anita Ghose who has 20 years experience in the sector.
The provider looked forward to working with residents and staff to meet the rising demand for aged care services across the country, Adjunct Professor Cornelissen said.
“The Sisters of Mercy West Perth has been providing education and aged care services in Western Australia for several years and we are pleased to be able to support its ministry in aged care. MercyCare is also a longstanding and trusted organisation in Perth evolving from the works of the Sisters of Mercy. MercyCare shares a similar history and values base to Mercy Health and – as a separate entity with no affiliations with Mercy Health – will continue to deliver services in the regionm” he said.
