Hartmann donates products to Eastern Europe
The incontinence product supplier is giving away obsolete and slow-moving stock through a Christian charitable organisation.
Continence product supplier Paul Hartmann has donated more than $50,000 worth of excess stock to a Christian charitable organisation for use in Eastern Europe.
The company was able to fill three 40-foot containers with slow-moving and obsolete stock to be distributed by Mission Without Borders.
The incontinence products will now be sent to nursing homes and centres for children with disabilities in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and the Ukraine.
Mission Without Borders operates a program called ‘Gifts in Kind’ through which companies donate durable products to Eastern Europe.
“Donating our excess stock to Mission Without Borders is a fantastic way for Hartmann to give to communities that are disadvantaged,” said Paul Hartmann’s National Sales and Marketing Manager, Graeme Shelley.
“We are proud to be able to donate our quality continence products and anticipate continuing this in-kind program into the future.”
Over 240 truckloads of reconditioned sewing machines, shoes and personal hygiene items were donated to six countries under the program last year.
“We work with thousands of disabled and elderly in homes and families who cannot afford enough food, clothing or heating for their humble dwellings so affording incontinence products is completely out of the question,” said the National Director of Mission Without Borders, Michelle Dorey.
“Soiling clothing and bedding has been their only option and most survive without washing facilities. We are incredibly thankful for the generosity of Paul Hartmann.”
Mission Without Borders uses volunteers to pack containers and clear excess stock.
