Aged care provider IRT Group’s Jasmine Grove housing precinct of eight villas for women over 55 is set to open mid-year.
Jasmine Grove, which has been partially funded by the Australian Government through the Building Better Regions Fund, is collocated within the new Henry Brooks Estate at IRT Kanahooka retirement village in Wollongong.
It offers single women over the age of 55 to live together in a supportive environment plus 50 hours of IRT Home Care in the first 12 months of residency.
The precinct includes eight private one-bedroom villas and a community building, which have already been erected.
The community building has a large share kitchen, family sized dining and lounge area and the precinct also includes a barbecue area, storage, a vegetable garden and green space.
Jasmine Grove residents can also access Henry Brooks Estate amenities including the clubhouse, pizza oven and giant outdoor chessboard.
IRT Group CEO Patrick Reid said the new offering aims to address the difficulty some senior women have accessing appropriate retirement living options.
“Our aim with Jasmine Grove is to offer a new type of retirement living for women that is not only more affordable, but sustainable and connected,” Mr Reid said.
IRT said construction was expected to be complete by July.
