Large community provider opts for technology

A Queensland-based NFP has selected an electronic information system to manage data from its community clients.

Queensland-based provider Blue Care has reached a deal with Procura Healthcare Systems to implement its Health Management System across its community care and social and allied health services.

The tool will provide a common information system for care and service management and is expected to lead to greater efficiency of service delivery.

Blue Care is one of Australia’s largest providers of community care, conducting close to 2.5 million community service visits each year.

Under the new system, all of Blue Care’s community service clients will have their data stored securely on a centralised system that direct carers and managers will able access immediately.

“We selected Procura because it was clear that they understood the practical day-to-day needs of staff within a community care setting,” said Blue Care’s Director of Organisational Development, Bob Gilkes.

“Additionally, the configurability of the system means that it will meet the needs of our various programs and service streams.”

Procura’s Chief Product Architect, Scott Overhill said the company was excited by the opportunity to work with Blue Care on such a big project.

“We look forward to building a strong long-term relationship and supporting Blue Care’s continued delivery of essential community services.”
