Last chance to pledge for Change Day
Last calls for pledges to improve the health outcomes of fellow Australians for Change Day Australia on 6 March.
Time is running out to make your pledge to improve the health outcomes of fellow Australians for this week’s inaugural Change Day Australia.
Change Day Australia, which takes place tomorrow, Thursday 6 March, is calling on individuals and organisations to do one small thing each in order to lead to widespread improvement across Australia’s health, ageing and social welfare sectors.
Already a geriatrician has vowed to make dementia sexy, Palliative Care Australia has promised to encourage people to chat about dying and a Medicare Local has sworn to strive for health equity in the Northern Territory.
As Change Day Australia founder Mary Freer previously told Australian Ageing Agenda, the campaign is based on a premise that when a lot of people come together to do one small thing each, it changes the world.
The campaign reached 5,000 pledges this week. While it had an initial target of 50,000 pledges, organisers have renewed calls for more people to get involved to reach 6,000 pledges before Thursday.
Change Day committee member Beth Scott, from Paradigm Health, has made a video pledge to lobby for better mental health support, which can be viewed here.
And many participants have taken to Twitter to share their pledges and encourage others to do the same.
Visit the Change Day website, Twitter or Facebook page to make a pledge, upload a photo or video.
