Southern Cross Care (SA & NT) appoints Jo Boylan as its director of operations; Aged Care Channel has appointed Marissa David as business and finance manager.

Southern Cross Care (SA & NT) has announced the appointment of Jo Boylan as director of operations.

As the former northern region residential services manager for the ACH Group, Ms Boylan successfully managed a wide portfolio of responsibilities, including management of residential and complex mental health services. She also has wide experience in transitional care, mental health for older people, dementia care, day therapy, rehabilitation and palliative care. In her new role, Ms Boylan will be responsible for strengthening SCC’s operational systems and procedures.

Ms Boylan, who has had a 25 year career in aged care, previously worked with SCC as general manager for the Philip Kennedy Centre and Mt Carmel.

She has had close involvement with a range of policy issues affecting the aged care sector as an advisor to government departments and as a member of aged care sector reference groups and programs. In addition, she has presented papers at international forums on a range of matters pertaining to best practice in care and support for older people.

“Jo’s proven ability to manage across a wide range of services combined with her extensive knowledge of the aged care industry will make her a great asset to SCC,” said CEO Andrew Larpent. “We were sorry to lose Jo some years ago, however the wealth of experience Jo brings to the role provides us with an excellent foundation on which to take our services to the next level.”

New appointment at Aged Care Channel

The Aged Care Channel (ACC) has appointed Marissa David as its business and finance manager.

ACC chief executive officer Russell Bricknell said Ms David would be contributing to the ongoing success of the organisation by providing financial guidance in formulation of strategic and business plans, leadership and development of teams, compliance in statutory requirements of the organisation and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.

“Marissa has exceptional breadth of expertise in process improvement, financial management and leadership development which will significantly contribute to our strategic goals and continue to build our first class commitment to the aged care sector,” said Mr Bricknell.

Ms David is an experienced finance manager, having worked in financial and accounting environment for a number of years in various industries, including aged care, building and construction, retail and wholesale.
