Retirement living developer Stockland has unveiled the design for its new apartments for seniors.
The first of the new apartments are currently under construction at the group’s new retirement village in Melbourne’s Gowanbrae.
The Gowanbrae development will contain 39 units over three levels, with a range of one and two bedroom offerings.
The retirement complex will also contain a communal lounge area overlooking a bowling green and a community centre.
The apartments will come with car spaces, balconies and garden areas and access to all three levels will be provided by elevators.
Stockland’s national manager for development, Anton Pound, said the design for the new apartments has been developed in response to feedback from older consumers.
“For instance, customer insight has revealed that buyers are after light and bright homes with open plan living and extra space in the form of a powder room or study – all of which we have incorporated into the apartment design,” he said.
With the number of retirees set to increase significantly in coming decades, Stockland Retirement is looking to diversify its product portfolio.
“The Gowanbrae apartments are reflective of our commitment to create progressive designs which provide retirees with low maintenance and affordable living choices,” Mr Pound said.
Stockland hasis working on $1.1 billion worth of retirement living projects to meet the projected growth in demand for retirement living options.
