Provider peak chief executive officer Tom Symondson is confident the new Aged Care Act will be introduced into parliament soon, he tells Australian Ageing Agenda.
Mr Symondson has been in Sydney this week for Aged Care & Community Care Providers Association’s state conference for New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory providers.

On Thursday, he addressed the event, which drew over 500 people to the Hilton Hotel, about ongoing reform.
Afterwards he told AAA he was confident a new Aged Care Act would be introduced into parliament soon and that it would include the funding detail missing from the exposure draft.
“I’m quite confident that Chapter Four, which was missing in the exposure draft but covers all of the financial issues and funding for the sector, will be part of that bill as it enters parliament. And that that section will follow pretty closely the taskforce recommendations.”
In the video below Mr Symondson shares his insights on the new Aged Care Act, advice for aged care providers amid the uncertainty, and a message for parliamentarians on the new legislation.
