$79.5 million given to HACC programs
Justine Elliot and her state and territory colleagues announce extra funding for HACC programs around the country.
Along with her state and territory counterparts, the Commonwealth Minister for Ageing Justine Elliot has announced an extra $79.5 million for The Home and Community Care (HACC) program around Australia.
The program is used to support frail elderly people and younger people with disabilities living at home, as well as their carers.
Funding for the program is shared between the Federal Government and state and territory governments.
“Home and Community Care is a central element in the Government’s vision for a world-class community-care system that delivers high-quality, affordable and accessible care to meet the individual needs of older people, younger people with a disability, and their carers,” said Ms Elliot.
New South Wales will receive an additional $34.5 million.
Victoria will receive an additional $27.4 million.
The Northern Territory will receive an additional $800,000.
Tasmania will receive an additional $3.8 million.
Western Australia will receive an additional $13 million.
