Consultation open for final release of rules

The Department of Health and Aged Care is calling for feedback on the new Aged Care Act rules relevant to Stage 4b, including entry into care, regulation, complaints, and information management.

The Department of Health and Aged Care is inviting feedback on the final release of the rules for the new Aged Care Act, with feedback open until 13 May.

This marks the release of stage 4b and is relevant to topics in chapters two to five, seven and eight.
 
Stage 4b covers:

  • entry into the aged care system and how places are allocated to people
  • rules for providers, workers and digital platforms
  • accommodation costs, including bonds and charges
  • regulation of the aged care system, including handling complaints
  • information management, including what the government must or can share
  • other topics, including reviewable decisions.

Feedback can be provided through an online form and more information about the 4b release can be found here.
