HACC funding boost for NSW
The state’s HACC services will receive an extra $5 million for purchasing equipment and conducting home and facility upgrades.
The Commonwealth and NSW governments have announced an extra $5.1 million for Home and Community Care (HACC) Services in the state.
The extra funding will take the total HACC funding for NSW to $510 million.
The money will go to 300 existing service providers throughout the state who will use it to purchase community transport vehicles, upgrade kitchens bathrooms and office equipment and provide training to carers.
“[The projects] range from something simple, such as providing equipment for volunteer first aid training to the purchase of a 25-seater modified bus for an Adult Centre Based Day Care [centre] to help transport its clients,” said Commonwealth Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot.
The funding package also includes more than $115,000 to enable one-off home clean-ups for HACC clients.
“These clean ups will assist those clients in need to maintain their independent living,” said Mrs Elliot.
