Joint retirement living project in Adelaide
Two SA providers are joining together to build an innovative retirement complex in Northgate.
An innovative retirement living partnership is set to get underway in Adelaide with the purchase of a 4.2 hectare plot at Northgate.
Over the next four years, South Australian providers Masonic Homes and the ACH Group will develop a $60 million retirement community on the site that will boast 85 two and three-bedroom villas as well as a 65-unit apartment complex.
“This is the first milestone on a very exciting journey to what will become one of the most innovative retirement living developments ever seen in this state,” said Masonic Homes’ CEO, Doug Strain, said.
The CEO of ACH Group, Dr Mike Rungie said the partnership represents an impressive commitment from both organisations to the development of quality accommodation and community services.
A planning application for the 150-home development was approved in January by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, which noted that the development would help fulfill its goal of developing a diverse range of housing to meet the needs of an ageing population.
The retirement community will host a modern community centre with a large community hall, a swimming pool, a fully-equipped gymnasium, and a public cafe.
“All of the facilities and open spaces within the development have been carefully designed to make life more comfortable and relaxing for its residents, but also to provide additional amenities for the wider community,” Mr Strain said.
