Minister for the Ageing disputes findings of recent report
Report by Grant Thornton shows falling profits and loss in aged care industry.
A report, commissioned by the former government, by auditing firm Grant Thornton has shown that 40 per cent of aged care providers are losing money. The report also reveals that industry profits have fallen by up to 30 per cent over the last few years.
Aged Care Minister Justine Elliot disputed the findings of the Grant Thornton report saying “That report is not actually correct.” Ms Elliot was also unable to confirm whether the 1.75 per cent CAP payments would remain but added “It is a longstanding principle to neither confirm nor deny what is, or is not, part of the budget process.”
