Minister’s awards are here again
Nominations will officialy be called for next month and will close in February 2009.
Nominations for the Minister’s Awards for Excellence in Aged Care will officially be called for next month.
The awards are designed to identify organisations and individuals achieving best practice within the industry.
“Nurses, personal carers and allied health workers are the backbone of Australia’s aged and community care system – it is vital they are recognised along with providers for their commitment,” said the Minister for Ageing, Justine Elliot.
“I have been to every state and territory and I have seen world class facilities and met with hundreds of dedicated and hard working staff – and I believe they deserve to be recognised.”
Groups and people providing Commonwealth-funded residential and community care are eligible to receive the awards.
The award categories include:
– Overall leadership and innovation achievement;
– Innovation in IT, human resource management, training and workforce issues;
– Achievements in the not-for-profit sector;
– Leadership in community care;
– Outstanding individuals in aged and community care; and
– Rural or remote aged and community care innovation.
Nominations will close on 2 February, 2009.
