Sanctioned home is confident

Domain Seahaven in Inverloch has been issued with sanctions for failure to resolve areas of previous non-compliance.

The Government has issued sanctions against a Victorian home for failure to resolve areas of previous non-compliance.

The areas of non-compliance at Domain Seahaven in Inverloch were identified by the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency during a visit on April 21.

“We take these compliance issues very seriously and want to assure families that our residents are not at risk,” said Mr Bill Summers, Executive Director of The Domain Principal Group.

“The health and wellbeing of our residents is of the utmost importance to us. We are confident that Domain Seahaven meets all its compliance requirements”.

The Department of Health and Ageing has said its staff will continue to monitor the facility but will cease any further Australian Government subsidies for new residents admitted during the next three months.

The requirements also include the appointment of a nursing experienced adviser, approved by the Commonwealth, to assist the home to comply with their responsibilities for a period of three months.

The Domain Principal Group will meet with representatives from the Department of Health and Ageing today to present evidence of the facility’s compliance.
