Ready rosters for aged care

A health software company has developed a new rostering system specifically for aged care providers.

An Adelaide-based software provider has developed a new rostering system specifically for aged care providers.

Healthsolve’s RiGHTPEOPLE system can be used as a standalone tool or it can be integrated with the company’s care management solution.

The system uses web-based access and messaging systems that allow managers to change shifts on the run.

At the same time, the tool manages up-to-date and easily-accessible records of staff education and police checks.

Using the software, managers can also generate instant reports including staffing lists, payroll reports and leave allocations.

“It is set up so that people can generate their own reports. Everyone has diff parameters they are reporting on and it can be tailored to provide the results you need,” said Healthsolve’s Managing Director, Nick Cuthbertson.

Prototype versions of the program hae been trialled at two sites in South Australia.

Mr Cuthbertson said the new software system was developed in response to consumer demand.

“[Our] client surveys indicate staffing as one of the most complex and time consuming tasks for management,” he said.

“A key function of staffing is ensuring that the right number of staff with the right skills are available at the right time to manage the requirements of residents.”

Mr Cuthbertson added that studies in the aged care industry suggest that effective staff rostering is a major determinant of an organisation’s financial performance.

RiGHTPEOPLE is available for free online trials. For more information, contact Mr Cuthbertson at nick@healthsolve.com.au
