Odyssey Lifestyle Care Communities has been fielding calls from seniors wanting to call the Chevron Island development home.

Located on the Gold Coast, the multi-storey, resort-style facility is scheduled for completion in 2025 after construction commenced in April this year.

Odyssey founder and CEO Phil Usher says the level of interest has been remarkable.

“We’ve had a lot of enquiries and several residences have already been secured by forward-thinking individuals who recognise the unparalleled lifestyle and care opportunities offered by our community.”

A lot of the interest has come from people local to the area, said Mr Usher, people who already enjoy a high-rise lifestyle and wish to maintain it.

“People really love the location of this newest community and since announcing the development we receive one or two enquiries each day, which has kept us quite busy.”

Consisting of 19 storeys across a single tower, Odyssey’s Chevron Island site has a total of 167 apartments. “The most sought-after options have been the penthouses, the two-bedroom apartments as well as the north- and northeast-facing residences, both proving to be popular among the senior cohort,” said Mr Usher.

A blend of retirement living and aged care, the $127-million facility will also feature a space dedicated to seniors with cognitive impairment.

Over the duration of the build, the project will create 350 construction jobs. Once finished, more than 100 people will be employed at the site.

Mr Usher said the Chevron Island facility is being built based on feedback from residents at Odyssey’s Robina community.

“Since Robina opened in 2020, we’ve learnt a lot about seniors’ living preferences and have found many residents are keen for a variety options when it comes to space.”

  1. I would appreciate brochures illustrating the Odyssey building on Chevron Island, which includes floor plans and number of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments that will be available, I would like to know the sizes square metres) of the apartments, and balconies, their individual aspects and the costs of the various apartments and what one needs to do to secure an apartment. Could you also please confirm that all apartment doors will be wheelchair accessible. Sorry for all the questions, but your answers will be a big help to me.
Thank you kindly for your advice.
