Resthaven makes executive appointment

South Australian aged care provider Resthaven has appointed human resources professional Sylvia Powell executive manager people and culture.

Ms Powell has more than 30 years of experience working in human resources across the health, tertiary and aged care sectors, including at fellow aged care provider Eldercare.

That includes 10 years at the University of South Australia, where her  leadership roles included  leading and centralising  the university’s recruitment .

Ms Powell said she was passionate about continuing her career in the aged care sector.

“My aim is to further inspire, positively influence and grow Resthaven’s workforce and continue to provide the highest level of quality services to our clients and their families,” Ms Powell said.

“I hope to create a workplace culture where staff enjoy coming to work every day and promote Resthaven as a great place to work to their family and friends.”

Ms Powell said she was drawn to Resthaven because of its outstanding reputation in the sector, community and South Australia.

“I admire the pride and genuine commitment of staff to Resthaven and our customers. The professionalism and courtesy of staff has been the most notable and warm welcome I have most appreciated,” she said.

“I look forward to visiting Resthaven staff in residential, community and support services to demonstrate my gratitude for their amazing work and see how my role can support them further.”
