Rockpool Residential Aged Care has announced the appointment of technology industry and operations expert Ian Kelleher as its inaugural chief operating officer.

Queensland provider Rockpool Residential Aged Care has announced the appointment of technology industry and operations expert Ian Kelleher as its inaugural chief operating officer.
Mr Kelleher has over 25 years of experience in leading diverse business functions in the telecommunications sector, human services and tourism industries.

Rockpool Residential Aged Care has two aged care homes in operation including Australia’s first 5-Star Green Star designed home, another due to open in October and a fourth scheduled to open mid-2024.
Chief executive officer Melissa Argent praised Mr Kelleher’s skillset and welcomed him to the role – which she described as an exciting one for the growing organisation.
“It is a new role as we continue to grow Rockpool and enter the next phase of our journey opening Rockpool Pelican Waters in October and the commencement of our build of Rockpool Oxley in September,” Ms Argent told Australian Ageing Agenda.
“At Rockpool we have a commitment to transform technology in our sector to continue to enhance the lives of our residents, their families and our Rockpool team. Ian has an esteemed career in the technology industry so this, coupled with his operational expertise and kind nature, makes him a perfect fit for the Rockpool Group.”

In a post on LinkedIn Mr Kelleher said he was soon “moving into a dream role” at Rockpool Residential Aged Care.
“The ability to make a positive impact on people’s lives will be a privilege,” he said.
Mr Kelleher starts in the role on 3 July.
