Rockpool opens third facility
Queensland aged care provider Rockpool Residential Aged Care has opened a new site on the Sunshine Coast.
Queensland aged care provider Rockpool Residential Aged Care has opened a new site on the Sunshine Coast.
Located on Spitfire Banks Drive over 6,000 square metres, Rockpool Pelican Waters is a 150-bed facility comprised of 10 communities housing 15 residents each.
First announced in 2021, the $144-million complex – which boasts water and mountain views – offers residents residential, respite, memory support and palliative care.
Residents will have access to a large dining area, a shared lounge, domestic kitchens for supervised cooking, an onsite laundry, a hair and beauty salon, a cinema, and a wellness centre.
“Residents can also enjoy an onsite café, The Rocks Café Pelican Waters, which will also be open to the public,” said Rockpool Residential Aged Care chief executive officer Melissa Argent.
Outdoors are landscaped gardens, barbecues, and a purpose-built hobby shed.
“All the creature comforts and luxuries of home have been incorporated into the five-storey build, including an amazing garden and veggie patch,” said Ms Argent. “Paddock to plate isn’t just for the Sunshine Coasts top restaurants, it’ll happen daily at Rockpool Pelican Waters.”
Pelican Waters is Rockpool Rockpool Residential Aged Care’s third aged care home and follows its Morayfield site, which opened in 2020, and the provider’s Carseldine facility – Australia’s first 5 Star Green Star-designed aged care home, which opened last year.
Construction on a fourth site – Rockpool Songbird in Oxley – is scheduled to begin later this month.
