Shannon Sanderson moves to peak
Shannon Sanderson has moved from aged care consultancy and technology company Mirus Australia to Ageing Australia as the peak body’s state manager in South Australia.

Ageing Australia has appointed aged care sector veteran Shannon Sanderson as its state manager for South Australia.
Ms Sanderson was most recently head of business development at aged care consultancy and data company Mirus Australia, where she worked for over seven years. She previously spent more than eight years as a business development manager at education platform the Aged Care Channel.
Ms Sanderson has also been a board member of peak body Aged Care Industry Association and Southern Football Association SA.
“I’m very excited to be working with Ageing Australia and providers in my home state of SA during this time of ongoing change,” Ms Sanderson told Australian Ageing Agenda.
“The role will entail keeping our clients informed and supported, bringing together aged care key stakeholders in the state to look at ways we can work together to help people ageing in South Australia live their best life. I firmly believe this goal should not be impacted as we age – don’t we all want to live our best life?”
Ms Sanderson’s first day, 9 May, coincided with Ageing Australia’s SA state conference (pictured below).

On the immediate future, Ms Sanderson said her priorities included visiting providers across the state to listen to their challenges and understand how the peak body could advocate for their specific requirements.
“I am also keen to look at how we can work with education institutions and government to raise the profile of the sector and the fulfillment of delivering high quality care,” she told AAA.
