Stakeholders using quality standards on the go
Almost 1,500 people have downloaded the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s mobile app on the sector’s quality standards in its first month.
Almost 1,500 people have downloaded the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission’s mobile app on the sector’s quality standards in its first month.
Aged Care Quality and Safety Commissioner Janet Anderson launched the free app during a live webinar on 4 November.
It includes information on the eight quality standards and provides access to supporting resources that assist with implementing the standards.
The app has been downloaded nearly 1,500 times, the quality and safety commission said this week.
Ms Anderson said the app aimed to make it easier for aged care providers, staff and consumers to access the information about the quality standards.
“Early feedback on the app has been very positive, and we’re hoping it will be used not only by aged care staff but also by people receiving aged care and their family members,” Ms Anderson said.
The app is displayed in an easy-to-navigate format and allows users to get in touch with the quality commission.
“It also enables people to send an email to the commission and access online resources and we are looking at further options to make the app even more useful,” Ms Anderson said.
Ms Anderson said the quality and safety commission would continue to improve and enhance the app’s user experience.
Planned improvements include the quality commission being able to push content such as the monthly Aged Care Quality Bulletin straight to users.
The app is available for download from Google Play and the App Store by searching for ‘Aged Care Quality Standards’.
