Christine Bryden, a conversation about dementia

Aged Care Channel in partnership with the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency will broadcast live-to-air a co-produced program about living with dementia through a conversation with Christine Bryden. Christine was only 46 when she was diagnosed with dementia after experiencing symptoms of what she thought was stress, including headaches and some of the stereotypical forgetfulness, memory loss and confusion. Hers has been an emotional and spiritual journey, accompanied by Paul, a loving and supportive husband, which she will share in this moving program.

Food for the ages seminar – Optimising nutrition in aged care

Older People: Citizenship and Participation with Jeni Warburton, Eva Cox and Ian Yates.

Are older people valued as citizens in contemporary society? Facilitated by Professor Jeni Warburton, this webinar will start with a critique of societal approaches to older people and will highlight challenges to participation despite major policy changes and reforms over recent decades. Dr Eva Cox will discuss how our modern culture acts to exclude older people from full participation as citizens and the critical barriers of age discrimination and ageism. Ian Yates will then respond with a look at the policy and organisational solution to this contemporary problem.
