AUDIO: Aged services need to involve their whole workforce, not just the nurses, in order to improve resident health, a provider has told the Leading Age Services Australia 2014 National Congress.

Catholic Homes learning and development manager Jane Williams shared the learnings from their Raise the Bar program, which the provider has rolled out to all of their homes since the beginning of 2013.
Raise the Bar aims to identify when a resident is becoming unwell as early as possible and has resulted in fewer and shorter hospitalisations among residents.
Key to its success is an integrated model that incorporates a number of tools including Stop and Watch, which is used by all staff, emergency decision guidelines to assist nurses around the clock and an end of life pathway tool, said Ms Williams.
