$4.5 million in funding for Amana Living
Support for crucial upgrades at Edward Collick Home has arrived.

Residents at Edward Collick Home in Kalgoorlie will now benefit from quality upgrades at the space, and an enhanced living environment thanks to almost $4.5 million in funding from the government.
To aid aged care providers with infrastructure in regional, rural and remote areas, the grant will be made available through the ongoing Aged Care Capital Assistance Program.

Amana Living chief executive officer Stephanie Buckland said they were delighted to receive this funding, which would allow significant enhancements to the building and facilities of Edward Collick Home.
“Amana Living is dedicated to creating contemporary, welcoming environments that support the physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing of residents,” Ms Buckland said.
Minister for Aged Care Anika Wells said older Australians deserved access to safe and quality aged care services regardless of where they live.
“Round 2 of ACCAP will help rural and remote aged care providers to deliver appropriate cultural care and create more home-like environments, with comfortable and modern amenities, more liveable spaces and fewer shared rooms,” she said.
Plans for improvements at Edward Collick Home include refurbishment of residents’ rooms, elevated landscaping and common areas, renovating the hairdressing salon and enhancing power systems and security enhancements.
Ms Buckland said that this funding was a testament to the value of ensuring all Australians, no matter where they were located had access to the care they deserved.
“Regional aged care providers face unique challenges, and we commend the government for recognising the importance of investing in quality care and facilities for older people in regional communities,” she said.

Work is anticipated to commence in the first half of this year and collaboration with staff, residents and families of Edward Collick Home has been prepared to guarantee minimal disruption throughout the upgrade process.
“The Albanese Government continues to invest grant funding at unprecedented levels to support aged care providers outside of major cities, along with those that deliver specialist services,” Ms Wells said.
