FPACA hero

Australia’s growing not-for-profit aged care provider is retiring the Luson and Signature Care names and rebranding all sites under the national name For Purpose Aged Care Australia.

Established by not-for-profit social impact investment manager For Purpose Investment Partners after acquiring not-for-profit aged care providers Luson in 2023, FPACA went on to acquire Signature Care in 2024 and now manages over 2,000 beds and has over 800 new beds in development.

The name change signifies the organisation’s desire to consolidate the two entities into a singular brand with a clear mission of delivering exceptional care and supporting meaningful ageing – particularly in underserved regional areas.

FPACA group chief executive officer Matthew Filocamo said the new identity signals a clear commitment to “who we are and why we exist.”

“We are uniting under one name to better reflect our shared values and intent – to create communities that set the standard in aged care.”

FPACA has a different model to most. Being an NFP backed by FPIP means it is supported by institutional investors Qantas Super and Australian Ethical. The group also received $260 million in financial backing from NAB, CBA and Bank Australia in August 2024.

This model has allowed FPACA to deliver a number of measurable results, including increasing registered nurse hours by 30 per cent, reducing serious incidents to less than a third of what can be seen in the industry benchmarks for January to March 2025 published by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. and reducing external complaints by a quarter compared to the ACQSC benchmark report data.

“Our structure allows us to invest meaningfully in our workforce, our residents, and the technology that improves care,” said Mr Filocamo. “This isn’t just good for business – it’s good for Australia.”

“Our name may have changed, but our commitment to each resident and community remains steadfast,” he added.

“We are building something bigger than just a brand – we’re building a movement to redefine aged care in Australia.”

The aged care provider has also launched its new website FPAgedCare.org.au.
