Mercy Place praises staff for reaccreditation
Aged care home Mercy Place Mandurah is celebrating its clinical care coordinator Yong Jung and the work he has done to improve outcomes for residents.

Mercy Place Mandurah is celebrating three years since welcoming Yong Jung to the aged care team.
A former maths and physics teacher, Mr Jung was made clinical care coordinator after just one year with Mercy Place Mandurah and the not-for-profit provider has credited his leadership as being instrumental in securing full compliance and reaccreditation for another three years by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
Originally from South Korea, Mr Jung retrained as a nurse in 2015 before starting work in regional Western Australia.
He said supporting residents and their families through challenges and everyday moments alike is “incredibly meaningful.”
“Looking after the most valuable aged groups in the community and palliative care has been my passion since I was a nursing student, so it was not a hard choice for me to choose a career in aged care. I am proud of being a team member at Mercy Place Mandurah. Our care and clinical staff always put our residents first and recognise their needs quickly,” Mr Jung told Australian Ageing Agenda.
“I hope I am able to continue to develop my skills with my current team, but I am also interested in exploring a future career as a palliative specialised nurse,” he added.
