Admin staff get pay rise
A not-for-profit Queensland provider will give clerical staff an 18 per cent pay rise over the next three and a half years.
A Queensland not-for-profit provider will give its non-salaried administrative staff an 18 per cent pay rise over thee and a half years.
Blue Care negotiated the enterprise bargaining agreement with the Australian Services Union (ASU) earlier this year. The deal was supported by 97.8 per cent of clerical staff in a ballot.
The organisation’s Executive Director, Stephen Muggleton said the agreement ensured Blue Care remained an industry leader in regards to pay and conditions for its staff.
“It’s deserved recognition for the dedication and professionalism our administrative staff provide every day of the year,” Mr Muggleton said. “We greatly appreciate their contribution and support.
“To demonstrate our commitment to rewarding staff, we have backdated to September the first increase of 3 per cent. This will be paid before Christmas so staff do not have to wait for the agreement to be ratified. The second 2 per cent increase will be paid in January.”
The new agreement provides annual pay increases of four to five per cent along with increased uniform and laundry allowances. It also provides for new long service arrangements from next year.
Blue Care recently committed to similar wage increases and work conditions for nursing, personal care, hospitality and maintenance staff.
