The Amity Group launched has a new brand identity and will now operate under the banner of Bupa Care Services.

Although its name has changed its name, the group’s 4,100 employees remain committed to providing high quality care at its 47 residential aged care facilities.

The company was acquired by international healthcare and insurance provider Bupa in December 2007.

Outside of Australia Bupa provides care to over 32,000 older people in 400 homes throughout the UK, Spain and New Zealand.

“Changing our identity to Bupa Care Services will enable us to embrace the strengths and benefits of Bupa globally, while reinforcing our credentials for service and quality within the Australian aged care market,” said the company’s head of sales and marketing, Stephen Druce.

Since the Bupa Group began operating in the UK in 1947 it has focused on providing high quality healthcare.

Bupa is a provident association which operates without shareholders, allowing it to re-invest all profits back into the business to create better facilities and services for customers.

The company has also upgraded its website to reflect the changes.
