Anglicare SQ announces new COO
Kane Singh says it is a privilege to be part of the executive leadership team at Anglicare Southern Queensland.
Aged care provider Anglicare Southern Queensland has introduced chief operating officer of aged and community services Kane Singh, a registered nurse who holds postgraduate qualifications in management and business administration.
Mr Singh has extensive experience in senior leadership roles managing services across Queensland, including most recently at Carinity where served as executive manager of aged care for one year. He previously worked at Lutheran Services Australia and Churches of Christ in Queensland.
Mr Singh, who joined the organisation in July, said it was a privilege to be chosen for the role and that he has felt warmly welcomed by the wider Anglicare leadership team.
“I have been regularly visiting services and I am impressed by the work that is being done across all our services, in both regional and metropolitan areas,” Mr Singh told Australian Ageing Agenda.
“I have been deeply humbled by the work Anglicare does and the commitment of our staff, who go above and beyond to support our clients.”
He added: “As the chief operating officer, I am responsible for leading the aged and community services through the reforms. We are constantly seeking innovative ways to improve our service delivery to meet the needs of our current and future clients.”
Mr Singh, who has over 15 years’ experience within the aged care sector, will be responsible for implementing the strategy set by the Anglicare SQ board and for guiding the provider through the impending reforms set to take affect with the new Aged Care Act and Support at Home program next July.
Mr Singh replaced the organisation’s group manager of home and community services Sue Montgomery, who was acting in the role after former COO Nick Hansen left.
Announcing the appointment last week, Anglicare SQ chief executive officer Sue Cooke said she was pleased to welcome Mr Singh to the team.
“He is passionate about quality care and service to elderly Australians and strongly advocates for good governance at every level focusing on the customer voice, people’s growth and strategies to achieve better outcomes,” she said.
