Anne Skipper farewells Silverchain
Silverchain Group has announced chair of the board Anne Skipper is retiring after more than a decade of service.

Having enjoyed a 14-year tenure, Anne Skipper has retired from her role as chair of Silverchain Group, with her contributions credited as assisting the transformation of the organisation into a leading provider of in-home health and aged care across Australia.
Ms Skipper became chair of RDNS in 2007 and maintained the position following the merger with Silverchain Group in 2011.
“It has been an incredible privilege,” Ms Skipper said. “The development and delivery of our Best Care promise – care that is safe, personal, connected and effective for every client, every time – is a highlight, delivered by the skills, compassion and commitment of our incredible people,” she said.
In July 2024, Ms Skipper oversaw the acquisition of KinCare – which included inheriting 1,300 KinCare employees and provided the opportunity for Silverchain to bring its services to the east coast.
Haydn Chrystal – who has been a member of the board since 2010 – has replaced Ms Skipper as chair.

“Haydn’s strong business and commercial acumen and deep commitment to Silverchain’s values make him the ideal leader to guide the organisation through a period of growth and transformation,” said Ms Skipper.
Mr Chrystal said he is looking forward to working alongside chief executive Dale Fisher to guide Silverchain through the opportunities and challenges ahead in aged care reform.
This change is accompanied by the appointment of two new board directors – former nurse Di Mantell, and Susan Neuhaus, a surgeon and ex-army officer.
Ms Mantell has 25 years of experience as a non-executive and executive director in the public sector, and 10 years of experience in private sector. she is the chief executive officer of Celsus –which is the private partner and manager of the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Ms Neuhaus is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She has more than 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors, including as a director and chair across defence, health and research, government and not-for-profit sectors.
Both new directors are from South Australia and will begin their roles January 2025.
Of Ms Skipper’s departure, Mr Chrystal said: “Anne’s vision and determination have made Silverchain what it is today – a leader in trusted, innovative and compassionate in-home care. I am honoured to follow in her footsteps.”
