BaptistCare welcomes peak into the fold
BaptistCare continues to expand its presence across Australia, most recently adding peak body Baptist Care Australia into the organisation.
Following the merger of Baptcare VIC, TAS, SA, Baptist Care SA and BaptistCare NSW, ACT, WA into the national BaptistCare in March, peak body Baptist Care Australia has announced it will also be joining the not-for-profit as the need for a national peak body has declined.
BaptistCare currently employs over 12,000 people and supports over 38,000 customers across NSW, the ACT, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia, making it one of Australia’s largest integrated care and services providers.
The most recent merger has been led by former BCA chief executive officer Robyn Sampson who will now step into the general manager of advocacy role at BaptistCare.

“We need to evolve for the future. The relationships, expertise, and advocacy we’ve built over many years will now be embedded in a national care provider – one that is deeply committed to both service delivery and sector leadership. We believe this new model strengthens our capacity and resources to do even more, as one united voice,” Dr Sampson said.
The creation of a national organisation is both a structural change and a strategic opportunity for both organisations, but BaptistCare said it remains committed to ensuring the voices of BCA’s non-merging members continue to be heard.
Part of this will include the establishment of a new national network of Baptist social services so former BCA members can remain connected and maintain a position to advocate nationally.
BaptistCare chief executive officer Charles Moore said it was a natural and empowering next step.

“With BCA’s insights and leadership embedded in our new national organisation, we will be positioned to combine and amplify the voices of our customers and communities with the frontline experience of our workforce,” he said.
“We know scale matters, and we are stronger together. As one organisation, we can enhance our influence to create positive, lasting change where it matters most, including aged care reform, housing and homelessness, and domestic and family violence.”
