West Australian aged care and retirement living provider Bethanie has announced a $7 million renovation of a 1980s 35-apartment village in Warwick near Perth.

West Australian aged care and retirement living provider Bethanie has announced a $7 million renovation of a 1980s 35-apartment village in Warwick near Perth.

The upgrade includes an internal and external refurbishment of existing apartments with the one, two and three-bedroom homes to be split over two levels to provide residents with a porch or balcony.

The development includes a new communal building, passenger lift, community hub, activity room, barbecue area and landscaped gardens for activities and entertaining.

The retirement village is next to reserves and parks and facilities including a shopping centre, cinema, bowling club, train station, beaches and a bus stop.

Bethanie CEO Chris How said the upgrades provide the  retirement village a new lease on life.

“The village will be more vibrant with more emphasis on creating communal spaces to encourage positive social interaction,” Mr How said.

Prices for the apartments start at $255,000 and are being built by Tallwood Constructions. It is expected to be completed mid-October 2020.
