Bupa Care’s night of nights

Bupa Care Services held an awards night for general managers of its facilities last Wednesday.

The general managers of Bupa Care Services’ 47 aged care facilities across the country were recognised last Wednesday night in categories such as Outstanding Care, Resident Satifaction and Making a Difference, at the organisation’s gala awards night held during a three-day course in the Hunter Valley, NSW.

Awards were also presented for Continuous Improvement, Staff Satisfaction, Staff Dedication, Customer Service and Personal Best, but the top gongs were taken out by Bupa Dural (NSW) General Manager, Sandra McKenny, for 2010 Facility of the Year and Jenny Foley from Bupa Greensborough (Vic), who won 2010 General Manager of the Year.

Ms Foley also received the Continuous Improvement honour for outstanding leadership, being credited with making her facility a “flagship” for Bupa Care Services and “providing outstanding service to residents and their families, development of key individuals in her team and the implementation of a high quality resident dining experience”.

Ms Kenny was honoured for “building a dedicated team of people, committed to delivering the best care to residents,” and “developing ties with the local community including the recent Pet-Fest fund raiser, which made $5,000 for QLD disaster relief”.
