Events on the horizon

The holidays are over and it’s time to get back to work. Do you need some inspiration? Here’s a rundown of conferences happening in the ageing space in February and March.

It’s 2013 and you need to start up your engines again, ready for another year.

To help you get into gear there are numerous state and national conferences coming up in the next two months addressing many facets of the ageing space.

Specific areas targeted by the conference include dementia, people aged over 85, leadership, rural, and community care.

This forum is for community care organization representatives already involved in awareness raising/ education sessions on the enabling philosophy looking to find out more on the practicalities of implementing the enabling approach.

4th Annual National Dementia Congress
21-22 February, Melbourne, Novotel Melbourne on Collins
This conference examines dementia care issues from diagnosis through to palliation, exploring the theme of doing things differently in dementia care.

Tri-State Conference

“living and belonging”
Hosted by AAG (Hunter / NSW Division) and ACSA NSW & ACT Inc, the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health Orange, and the Research Centre for Gender, Health and Ageing.
This conference is for health and aged care practitioners, researchers, policy makers and planners, older people and anyone interested in ageing issues. It addresses the needs of Australians living in regional and remote areas who can experience poorer health outcomes than people living in urban areas.
