Kevin McCoy to stay on at Levande as CEO
Retirement living operator Levande has announced the appointment of a full-time chief executive officer.
Retirement living operator Levande has announced interim chief Kevin McCoy as permanent chief executive officer.
Mr McCoy – who resigned as CEO from aged care and retirement living provider Australian Unity last June after more than 10 years with the organisation – becomes permanent CEO after spending two months in the role on an interim basis. He replaced Susanne Dvorak as CEO in February after she spent six months in the role following her appointment when Levande launched September last year.
A statement released 9 February read: “Levande believes that now is the right time to appoint a new CEO with strong expertise in both property and care to drive the company’s strategic plan for the entirety of its journey…
“We would like to thank Suzanne Dvorak for her contribution to Levande and wish her well. She has led the business admirably during a period of transition and we have greatly benefitted from her expertise.”
In a statement on 8 May, Levande chair David Gonski announced Mr McCoy’s permanent appointment and praised him for connecting with residents and employees alike while interim CEO.
“He has outlined a clear and compelling vision for Levande to become Australia’s most trusted provider in retirement communities,” said Mr Gonski. “As a result, I am pleased to announce the board’s unanimous decision to appoint Kevin to the permanent CEO position.”
In the same statement, Mr McCoy said he was excited and honoured to be appointed permanent CEO. “In my short time here, I’ve visited more than half of our 58 communities, and seen first-hand the strength of our team’s commitment to our residents. It will be my great honour to lead them, as together we work towards enriching the lives of the more than 10,000 older Australians who call Levande home.”
Mr McCoy’s permanent appointment follows the hiring in April of Kaushik Sridhar as head of sustainability.
