Leaner, greener executive

A NSW aged care provider has announced a new leadership team as it aims to expand throughout the state.

After taking over the role of chief executive at Warrigal Care in April, Mark Sewell has announced some key changes to the organisation’s executive team as it aims to grow throughout NSW.

Mr Sewell said the new team will have one less position and one less layer but will be taking on more diverse executive responsibilities.

“At a time when we are expanding our services and upgrading our facilities across NSW, it is important we capitalise on these improvements by creating a leaner, more strategic and environmentally aware senior team for a new era at Warrigal Care,” Mr Sewell said.

Warrigal’s regional manager roles will be replaced by new executive managers for residential, Kerrie Graham, and community services, Ian McClintock, who joins Warrigal from the government sector.

The executive managers will spearhead the organisation’s upcoming development strategies, which include a range of new independent living services along with several respite and home care programs.

“Warrigal Care’s restructure brings specialist positions to the executive team,” said Mr Sewell. “It abolishes regional structures and the old model for a more focused structure that delivers better support for sustainability and growth in residential and community aged care”.

Two new organisational portfolios have also been created in the re-shuffle. As well as overseeing community services, Ian McClintock will head the organisation’s strategic planning and Peter Hutchinson who is already responsible for property management will take on environmental sustainability.

The changes also include a new manager for Human Resources, Marina Bolton who has experience in the professional services industries.
