Mercy acquires Family Touch

Mercy Health and Aged Care has acquired a Melbourne-based community care provider.

Mercy Health and Aged Care has acquired Melbourne-based Family Touch Home Care Services.

It is understood that the deal occurred in April after Mercy approached Family Touch.

Formed in 2002, Family Touch provided community care to elderly and disabled people and their families.

The organisation’s services are now being delivered as part of Mercy Home and Community Care.

Family Touch founder and former Director, Stephen Kupshik will stay at Mercy in a business development capacity.

“When the deal was being put together and the discussions were underway, I got a feel for Mercy’s values and they were very similar to the organisation I had built up,” he said.

“I felt very comfortable with the transfer to Mercy from the perspective of our staff. I knew that they would be well looked after and so far it has been very pleasant.”

Mr Kupshik said the deal is part of a broader growth and acquisition program being undertaken by Mercy.

Mercy Health and Aged Care was not available for comment before Australian Ageing Agenda’s deadline.
