New chair for Southern Cross Care
Mike Christensen will oversee the implementation of a new strategic plan.
Aged care provider Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT has appointed Mike Christensen as its new chair.
A member of SCC’s board since 2021, Mr Christensen brings to the role extensive experience in finance, property, and governance.
The leadership change at the organisation – which provides residential care, home care, and retirement living – comes ahead of the launch of a new strategic plan.
In a statement, Mr Christensen expressed his enthusiasm for the aged care organisation’s future. “I am honoured to take on the role of chair at such an important time for Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT. Our new strategic plan sets a clear path for innovation and growth, and I am excited to work with our dedicated team to achieve our goals and continue providing exceptional care and support to our community.”
Mr Christensen replaces Lawrence Hallinan who – after four years as chair – will remain a director on SCC’s board.
“This is a pivotal moment for Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT,” said its chief executive officer Monique Reynolds.
“With the approval of our strategic plan, we are well-positioned for future success. Mike Christensen’s leadership, combined with the ongoing support of Lawrie Hallinan and our highly skilled board, will be crucial as we implement our strategic initiatives and enhance the services we provide.”
Mr Christensen commenced the role of chair on 1 July.
