Anglican Retirement Villages (ARV) has plans to develop a large seniors living community after acquiring 12.7 hectares of land in The Ponds, a new suburb in Sydney’s northwest.

Built over several stages, the community will feature 200 independent living units with associated amenities and a 100-bed aged care facility.

The Ponds is being developed by Landcom and Australand and when complete will include over 3,000 homes.

It is a growing 390 hectare master-planned community located beside the Kellyville Ridge.

The site fronts onto the Stanhope Parkway and is a few minutes walk from the Stanhope Shopping Village.

“Research identified the northwest sector and the Blacktown local government area, as an area of high need for the company’s services,” said the organisation’s CEO, Ken Barber.

“ARV is pleased to have secured The Ponds site in a growing residential area close to shopping and leisure facilities.”

Mr Barber added that the parcel of land is strategically positioned, close to public transport routes and other community facilities that are planned for the new suburb.

The new community will feature childcare facilities, water bodies, cycle paths, walking tracks, sports facilities and a retail precinct.
