Nominate an outstanding aged care worker for a reward
Humanetix has launched an awards program this week to highlight and reward incredible aged care employees.
The aged care technology company behind ACE Care Management Platform has launched an awards program this week to highlight incredible aged care employees and reward the best three.
The Humanetix HEART Awards program is offering three grants – $2,500 for first place, $1,500 for second place and $500 for third place – to go towards self or career advancement, not-for-profit donations or activities, or industry development initiatives.
Nominations can be made online by anyone such as a colleague, employer, care recipient or the person themselves. The online application asks why a nominee is deserving and what they will do with the grant if they win.
The program aims to celebrate workers who represent the HEART principles – helpful, empathetic, action-oriented, resilient, and trustworthy.
“This is about putting our everyday aged care workers’ names up in lights,” Humanetix chief executive officer Arthur Shih said in a statement. “We are celebrating the incredibly valuable work that our nurses, home care workers and personal care assistants do.”
Aged care staff are a critical part of the healthcare system and immeasurably important to enabling the happy and healthy aging of seniors, he said. “We’ve heard from aged care workers on the ground that the ability to fund specific professional development programs would be hugely beneficial.”
Nominations are open from Monday 27 February to 31 March.
“We would love to hear as many stories as we can so if you have an experience to share about an amazing aged care worker, please consider putting their name forward,” Mr Shih said.
