2025 05 02 Nursing and Midwifery Awards - Aged Care - Karen Gregory - Adv Prac Nurse Palliative Care

Resthaven palliative care advanced practice nurse Karen Gregory has been awarded the Excellence in Aged Care award at this month’s South Australian Nursing and Midwifery Awards.

Speaking at the 2 May event, SA Health Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer Jenny Hurley said the awards recognised the vital role nurses and midwives play in improving the lives of consumers, families and women every day.

“Congratulations to all the Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards 2025 nominees, finalists and winners who should take immense pride in their accomplishments and their exceptional contribution to the South Australian community,” she added.

Executive manager clinical governance and operational excellence Merridy Baylis also congratulated Ms Gregory on her achievement.

“Karen uses her expertise to provide exceptional palliative care to improve a person’s comfort and enjoyment of life,” Ms Baylis said.

“She is a strong advocate for training and brings palliative care information to all Resthaven employees. Karen demonstrates an exemplary standard of practice and provides evidence-based and person-centred care to older people and their families in a way that is incredibly sensitive, caring and consultative.”

Finalists in the aged care excellence category include:

  • Stephanie Genrich, Eyre and Far North Local Health Network
  • Nicole Glynn, Limestone Coast Local Health Network
