Charity takes out reporting gold

A NSW NFP has been recognised for having a model annual report.

For the second year running, NSW aged care provider Warrigal Care has won a Gold Award for its annual report at the 2008 Australasian Reporting Awards.

The annual awards are designed to celebrate excellence in reporting and public accountability.

As well as demonstrating overall reporting excellence Warrigal was recognised for providing full disclosure of key aspects of core business and compliance – and developing a model for peer reports.

“We have again received national recognition for our annual report that, not only complies with best practice business reporting standards, but is clear, concise and informative” said Warrigal Care CEO, Mark Sewell.

“The award demonstrates Warrigal Care’s commitment to open and honest communication with our communities. Demonstrating best disclosure practices and transparency is key to gaining and keeping their trust in our reputation, which is essential to us.”

Mr Sewell said the award provided a valuable opportunity for the charitable organisation to prove it can excel against the commercial business sector.

“It proves the commitment we have to building a strong foundation in the community and being a part of the best practice of the aged care sector’s future,” he said.

The Australasian Reporting Awards have been running for 58 years and were established to encourage effective communication of financial and business information.
