Finalist in Telstra Business Awards

An architectural firm with a strong background in aged care design has reached the state finals of the Telstra Business Awards.

An architectural firm with a strong background in aged care design has been recognised as a Queensland state finalist in two categories for this year’s Telstra Business Awards.

Thomson Adsett Architects is among the top six contenders for the social responsibility and innovation awards.

The judges were impressed by the company’s involvement in international aged care study tours through the SAGE alliance, originally with Aged Care Association Australia (ACAA) and now with Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) as well.

Tours provide aged care industry decision makers with the opportunity to see advancements in eldercare from a global perspective.

Thomson Adsett’s managing director, Rob Adsett, said the company was very pleased to be a finalist in the award.

“As a company, we constantly strive to reinvent ourselves and to become better than we are,” he said.

“At the start of every project we undertake, we ask ourselves how the building can be something to be proud of, not just now, but 50 years from now.”

The Managing Director of Telstra Business, Deena Shiff said hundreds of entries were received for this year’s Awards.

“We have uncovered some great success stories this year, and are looking forward to celebrating Australia’s most successful enterprises at these Awards which truly celebrate the entrepreneurial Aussie spirit,” she said.

But Thomson Adsett was the only architectural company to make the finals.

Winners of the te awards will be announced in September.
