Luxury facility takes out property award

The Montefiore facility in Randwick has been recognised for innovation excellence in design by the Property Council of Australia.

The Sir Moses Montefiore Jewish Home in Randwick has received the national award for emerging assets at the Property Council of Australia’s 2009 awards for innovation excellence.

The Property Council’s national president, Daniel Grollo praised the luxury aged care development for its design standard.

“The design of Montefiore’s latest development in Randwick is a result of leading edge research into aged care needs and quality of lifestyle,” said Mr Grollo.

“The innovative redevelopment meets the desires of both residents and their families.”

The interior design consultant for the site, Gilmore Design expressed its pride in the award as well.

“It is so difficult to find an award category that is suitable for aged and healthcare projects,” said Managing Director Jennifer Gilmore.

“This project has set a new benchmark in aged care facilities and should be recognised for this.

“The particular success of this project lies in a good team collaboration between the client, [the] architect and [the] interior designers from [the] early planning stages”

Gilmore is currently working on a new aged care facility in Shellharbour, with construction due to commence in coming months.
